Images by Inuit artist Ningiukulu Teevee will be animated and projected on the sails of the Sydney Opera House most evenings for the next year.

The six-minute animated projection debuts December 17 and will run multiple times most evenings for the coming year.
The exhibit is part of Badu Gili: Story Keepers, the third in a series celebrating the art and history of First Nations people through animated projections on the eastern sails of Sydney’s iconic opera house. The 2026 event pairs Ning’s work with that of Australian Gooniyandi First Nations artist Mervyn Street.
Ningiukulu Teevee is from Kinngait (Cape Dorset), Nunavut.
“Teevee shares her unique perspective on historical and contemporary Inuit culture through both her visual art and writing. In particular, her ability to capture and distill stories into drawings and prints is part of what makes Teevee’s work so popular. She is noted for her frequent and playful translation of traditional stories into dynamic compositions.” (Inuit Art Quarterly)
This event is part of a collaboration between the Sydney Opera House, the Biennale of Sydney, and the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain.

This is so inspiring. So wonderful to see Ning’s work displayed so boldly.
