This program is being presented by the Inuit Art Society (IAS) in cooperation with the Dennos Museum Center (DMC) in Traverse City, MI and the Canadian Consulate of Detroit.

Friday

- The Marketplace opens.

- Opening reception, formal introductions
- Exhibition of 2008 Dorset prints with tour and commentary on print making techniques by the DMC curator, Diana Bolander
- 2008 Dorset Fine Art print sale and lottery

Saturday
- 8:30 a.m.
- Coffee and tea served
- Marketplace (Sculpture Court) and Inuit short films (Dutmers Theater)
- 10:00 a.m.
- Introduction of and carving demonstration by featured artist, Anita Issaluk (Janis Community Room)
- Noon
- Lunch (included in the registration fee)
- 12:45 – 2:30 p.m.
- Panel discussion of knowledgeable Arctic travelers with special emphasis on how Inuit art is acquired and brought to the retail market, as well as current trends in collecting. Special guest panelist – Robert O’Hara, collector who gifted his collection to the Dennos Museum Center.
- 2:45 p.m.
- Depart as a group (via vans) to view the collection of a major Inuit art enthusiast whose beautiful home overlooks Lake Michigan and provides an appropriate setting for a series of museum quality carvings
- Then visit the Boskydel Vineyard and meet its owner, Bernie Rink, the individual who introduced Inuit art to northern Michigan and is a founding member of the Michigan Wine and Grape Industry. Aperitif anyone?
- 7:00 p.m.
- Dinner at the lovely Leland Lodge (cost of meal not included in event registration)
- Return by van to Days Inn or DMC(Marketplace and Inuit films available until 10pm).

- Annual meeting of the Inuit Art Society members (Janis Community Room)
