In Praise of Older Women at Galerie Elca London in Quebec

Our friend Mark London at Galerie Elca London is ending the year with a sweet exhibt he’s calling “In Praise of Older Women: Women in Inuit Art 1950-2000”

He explains:

“Currently, the gallery is fortunate to have a wealth of spectacular works depicting women portrayed in all manner of activities, all dating from the first 5 decades of the modern era. It is interesting to juxtapose the earliest works from Inukjuak and Kinngait with the elegant Kinngait works produced at the end of the last century.”

This lovely exhibit includes sculpture, prints, and textiles. It will be up through the end of December. Can’t get to Quebec to see it in person? Take a look online where Mark has posted lots of pictures of each piece.

And yeah, I’d love to have one of these beauties. But at least I can admire them online!
