Abraham Anghik Ruben talks about his work at Feheley Gallery

While the WAG-Qaumajuq in Winnipeg has a massive retrospective of Abraham Anghik Ruben’s work on display through next spring, Feheley Fine Arts in Toronto has a much smaller, but still  impressive selection of Anghik Ruben’s work in the gallery through July 5. (The virtual version will likely remain online after the physical exhibition closes.)

As part of Feheley’s show, they’ve created a video of Anghik Ruben talking about the inspiration and stories behind this work. It’s fascinating to hear how he thinks about the world and how that comes out in his work. The video is definitely worth a listen if you are a fan of his work.

The WAG-Qaumajuq also recorded Anghik Ruben talking about pieces in that exhibit. Those will be available to visitors as they go through the exhibit, but interviews and other material may also show up online eventually. Until then, you have a few stories thanks to Feheley. And there’s still time to get up to Winnipeg to see the WAG-Qaumajuq’s incredible exhibit in person.
